hey hey! happy new years eve, everyone! wait a minute..... O.o!: give it up ying, did you really think you could bluff your way into making ppl think you knew what day it was? shut up, you! oh, did'ja meet fluffy yet? fluffy's the little face-thingie that will pop up and mock me every once in a while. why you ask? *shrugs* neh, no reason, just because O.o! : i demand a better name than 'fluffy'! i'm not a cat! fine, fine....we'll can you neko-chan O.o!: thats just japanese for cat! (and what do you mean 'we'?) ok, your name shall be.....sanko O.o!: what the hell...a spanish 5? ahhh...but you'll notice that i totally butchered the spelling! ^_^ O.o!: f*ck you ^.^ yes, you do that.... well, i think i've wasted enough time, so it's ...time (darn, two of the same words in one sentance...T_T) to get this show on the road! O.o!: pretty pathetic show, if you ask me... well no one did, so shut up, you ok, first off, i'd like to say that i spent quite a lot of time and effort and TCL on this weeks newsletter.....i put it through the god spellcheck several times, and i even paraded infront of spellcheck's evil twin, grammar-check, just so i could deliver the gosh-darnest bestest newsletter i could to you ppl. that's what i'd like to say. but....the truth is....while i did spend some time thinking of mind-blowingly interesting and intellectually stimulating material for this thing (most of which came to me while in either the car, or REM), my brain doesn't like co-operating and forgot to move all that wonderful junk to long-term memory. so.....you're stuck with whatever i can come up with on the fly. like fluffy over there O.o!: hey! i thought you said my name was sanko! yeah, whatever... hey, didja hear about the chris virus? apparently if you go on the net anytime christmas day, your compy gets screwed. don't know if it's true or not, though..... well, lets get to this weeks content. SO YING, HOW'S BELL?
the same thing with math...i keep on forgetting the tests. that may have something to do with the fact that almost all of the tests are the same....walk in, spend all period finishing, have teacher yell at class for doing poorly/doing wrong things/not putting name where it says name/stuff like that....have another test. well anyway....i think something's coming back... something about snow white and the real slim shady dwarf....doing the riverdance... no wait, it's gone drat. 4Rs
ok, that's a dead subject. how about i rant about my rage against.... nothing. ok, how about heavey metal (which i think was what i was gonna rant about, actually) yeah, i *do* think it was what i was gonna rant about. ok, i get the impression that a lot of ppl think that ppl who listen to heavey metal, and punk rock, and all that loud drums and electric guitar stuff...yeah, a lot of ppl think that those ppl have *problems*, and are gonna grow up to be renound (north) americal phycos. am i right, or am i wrong? i mean, it would make sense....a lot of that kind of music is basically a musical embodiment of pain, rage, and all those nice dark 'baser' emotions....i wouldn't know, 'cause i don't listen to it all that often, but boy gosh, does it ever sound harsh. and ppl listen to what they relate to, and if ppl relate best to pain and rage, then by gosh, do they have problems! i'm sure you all know about my breif period of suicidal depression...or maybe you don't . i dunno...i remember telling ppl, but i don't remember which ppl. well, there was a point in me bringing that bit up, but now i can't remember what it was so i'll just skip it and go on... O.o!: my, that's awefully *pathetic*! shut up, you well, i guess that i just wanna argue against any of you who think that punkers are bad, out-law, crack-sniffing, wife-beating ppl. i'm not sure if any of you feel this way...but in case any of you do, i wanna go against it! *feels revolutionary* (yeah, and that's another thing....that rage against the machine song, renegades of punk...man does that song ever grate my nerves! it's just so....egotistic...*shudder*) who hasn't had pain and rage in their lives? all those ppl are doing is indulging in their pain, perfectly healthy in my opinion. surfing live out through music.... and another thing about music....i'm in music this year (like, you know, instead of art or drama) and i play the trombone! i started out the year plaing percussion, but do you *know* how *boring* it is back there?! the percussionists are just sitting back there while the rest of the class blows and blows and blows...and i'm just sitting back there...spinning my sticks....falling asleep (seriously, i almost did that one class) and when i *do* get to play, the stuff is like, 4/4 time, play one beat every beat, alternate hands... yay O.o!: hey, what happened to the punk/metal rant? i finished it, i think O.o!: it was rather anticlimatic yeah, i do that a lot. so yeah, so i switched to the trombonomaphone. ^.^ MY FUTURE, AS I SEE IT
....i dunno if any of you drabble in the internet fandoms, but they're basically what they sound like. communities of fans on the net. and fanfic is one of the driving forces of the fandom...creative stories written by fans, for fans, using the characters of their fan obcession, plus any original characters the author might like to throw in. lately, i've seen an increase of fics dealing with homosexuality....mostly with gay guys, but a few with lesbian women too. now we get to learn some basic fanfic terms! ^.^ take it away, fluffy! O.o!: *sigh* no fine, i'll to it myself then *pouts* slash: a graphic fic that deals with romantic/sexual relationships between 2 (or more ~_^) members of the male sex (i'm not sure about females and lesbianism....) slashy/mild slash: slash implications, or toned down slash (aka, they black out during the *whispers* sex scene) and slash is mostly only for western stuff..... yaoi: in anime (stuff they send over from japan)....basically the same as slash. it's a bit different though...though if i explain it to you, you might get a little faint of heart, so i won't. shounen ai: like slashy/mild slash....toned down yaoi yuri: yaoi's female cousin! (and her little sis, shoujo ai) ok, now that that's explained, you shouldn't get totally lost.... now i admit...i like slash. i remember scaring van by mentioning slash to her....and at that time, it freaked me out too. but that was because my first slash encounter was with a Very Graphic Fic. otherwise known as a lemon fic (though why it was stored in the humour section, i'll never know....). oh wait, i forgot lemon fics... lemon: a fic which a) contains scenes with graphic sexual...um, yeah
ok, well, i've since learned the error of my ways. i now pay close attention to the ratings of the fics, which is a Very Good Idea...espcially on the internet, ya know? but a during the summer, i came across some shounen ai fics (taito, what's that? *goes into page* hhmm...digimon eh? tai and ....matt?! how does *that* work?! *read, read, read...* ooohhh....well, that *does* make sense...kinda) , and since then the whole guys going after other guys thing has grown on me. now, i know it sounds weird, but slash/yaoi has quite a large following. it's in every imaginable fandom...from star wars, to pokemon, to harry potter, to buffy the vampire slayer. and here's the part that blows me away....it's main audiance is not gay guys, but straight girls. isn't that weird, in an ironic kind of way? i'd say a good 90 plus of the shash/yaoi fans are heterosexual females..... well, i'll continue my rant on slash/yaoi on the next newsletter....or maybe later on in this one if i ever finish explaining what that little divergance has to do with my future.... like many fic readers who have been touched with love for my fandom, and admiration for the talents of the various authors (and artists...mustn't forget the fan-artists) who dwell within the fandom, i have aspired to write my own fanfic, and draw my own fan art. i have all these really neat ideas for fics (at least, i find them neat) but i don't know where to start! so for the near future (read, the next two weeks) i will try to get some fiction down on paper! (or disk, as the case may be ^.^) what are these totally neat ideas? ok *rolls up sleaves* here we go! idea #1: gundam wing/star wars crossover. i've actually brought a lot of serious thought into this idea....like, a lot of the times a crossover is just a silly little thing that's purely character interaction, almost no plot and almost no action. i plan not to go down that path...this thing, if i ever write it, will have a wonderfully complex and intricate plot. i've contemplated the battle strengths of gundam wing's moble siuts/dolls/gundams vrs the space ships of star wars....and belive you me, it's taxed a lot of brain cells! O.o!: then again, this is ying we're talking about shut up you idea #2: heero yuy (leading male character of gundam wing) is actualy a girl. O.o!: O.o! yeah, that was the general reaction..... idea #3: heero and zechs' torrid love affair *snicker*
O.o!: yeah, murderous rage *really* fuels love! quiet you. both these characters have huge-mongous death wishes, so it's almost that they *want* the other to kill them! O.o! yeah, mutral suicide *really* fuels love! i *said* QUIET!!! i can tell that you are sick of this by now, so i'll stop i'm gonna skip the rest of the sections of the newsletter...'cause i feel like it. below are some links of interest to this thing.... ~Ying
